L|B was appointed to design a historical garden in Lechlade. The garden sits within a conservation area and the grounds of a Grade II Listed Building. The design sought to in part restore historical features within the walled priory garden. Challenges included listed features and the restirctions of the local conservation area. Two initial concepts were provided to the client that sought to create a sequential journey through the space. A key focus was enhancing the the view out to St.Lawrence Church to the south. A simple pallette of plants was developed to soften evergreen topiary hedgerows used to create structure throughout. We are looking forward to seeing this garden come to life when implemented this coming year.
