Clay Cross Care Home – Landscape Design

LBLA developed the hard and soft landscape design for this extra care facility in Derbyshire. The external spaces were designed to provide exercise opportunities as well as rest and reflection. We developed a landscape scheme that created habitat opportunity to a range of amphibian, mammal and bird species. This was achieved through wildflower meadow creation and new tree planting. Proposed hard landscaping sought to delineate spaces and reduce confusion for extra care patients through materials selection. A variety of planting types were included and focused on sensory stimulation. In conjunction with water features we created soundscapes to help relax residents.
